One thing is for certain; any eating plan to lose weight needs to follow some basic principles in order for it to be effective. With this in mind, keep the following fundamental principles in mind.
First of all, starving yourself or living off apples for one week is not going to get you where you want to be. An eating plan needs to be realistic and sensible. While you may have an uncontrollable urge to lose weight as quickly as possible, if you want to maintain your ideal weight in the long-term you need to give your boy what it needs. This means eating a balanced nutrition-rich diet. In order to maintain a healthy eating plan to lose weight you need to keep some things in mind.
Always start your day, and before every meal if possible, by drinking a glass of water with a slice of lemon. This helps the digestive system and will give you more energy. Breakfast is an important meal of the day, so it is wise to get into the habit of never skipping it. Eat smaller, more manageable meals rather than bigger meals less frequently. Include as many fruit and vegetables into these meals. Add berries and nuts to your breakfast cereal for example. Include a salad with your lunch incorporating as many raw vegetables as possible. At dinnertime include as many different coloured vegetables as possible. Eat fish at least two to three times a week and limit your intake of red meat. Snack on nuts, seeds, fruit and low-calorie alternatives such as cottage cheese and crackers and other forms of protein-rich foods such as beans and eggs to give you energy.
The more you start incorporating fresh, wholesome foods into your diet and limit your intake of processed foods, the sooner you will find yourself shedding that weight and feeling more energized. A good rule of thumb when going supermarket shopping is to have at least ¾ of your trolley filled with fresh foods. Try reducing your sugar intake as well as dairy sticking to cottage cheese and goats cheese where possible. Replace tea and coffee with herbal teas and water. Smoothies are also a great way to keep your fruit and vegetable intake up.
Once you start feeling the difference that comes from eating fresh, wholesome foods you cravings for sweet, processed foods will lessen and you will start shedding that unwanted weight as a result. So when considering any eating plan to lose weight, be sure to keep these fundamental principles in mind!
